Viscose has gained popularity for several reasons. It is pretty, very pleasant to the touch and safe for the skin. It combines the qualities that other, more expensive fabrics – cotton or silk – show. Due to the raw material and the production process, viscose is a material noticeably cheaper than them.
This means that more and more clothes are made of viscose, and customers ask our wholesaler about its next batches. Why is viscose a favorite among fabrics?
Viscose is a fabric with undeniable advantages
Viscose is popular, relatively cheap and suitable for sewing many types of clothes. Most often they are used for the manufacture of utility clothes:
- Lingerie
- T-shirts,
- jersejowe blouses,
- Body
- everyday dresses.
It is characterized by convenience of use, durability and pleasure in use. It is susceptible to natural dyes that withstand many washes. But that's not all.
How is viscose made? Viscose fabric
Next to polyester and cotton, viscose is another of the most popular materials on the clothing market. It is true that it is classified as an artificial fiber, but it is made of truly natural raw materials – more precisely from cellulose, which is used m.in in the production of paper. Most often it is used for the production of viscose beech, pine or spruce wood. To some extent, the production process resembles the one that results in the formation of paper. However, the finale is different – during the production of viscose, a number of chemical and technological processes take place, as a result of which a material for sewing clothes is created. The natural raw material is processed and therefore viscose is classified as an artificial fiber. Viscose, however, has all the advantages of fully natural fibers.

Fabric that breathes – viscose for summer
Viscose is a material that will work very well on hot summer days. This is because it passes air very well and allows the skin to breathe freely. Viscose, both in the form of fabric and knitwear, quickly absorbs moisture and evaporates it. Therefore, there is no risk that it will stick to the skin, as polyester can sometimes do. Until recently, silk was considered an excellent material for the summer. Yes, it has undeniable advantages, but on really hot and sunny days, it is worth considering viscose in its place. The sun's rays are slightly more harmful to silk than to viscose, which turns out to be simply more resistant in this regard. Another of the advantages of viscose is that you generally do not crease. Much depends on the type of weave of threads. Flexible viscose is so resistant to creasing that it does not even require ironing.
Viscose – chameleon material
Viscose can surprise because it can imitate other fabrics. How nice it is to the touch can resemble the popular cotton. In turn, the shine that can be given to it brings to mind noble and beautiful silk. Viscose can also be fluffy like high-quality wool. It is a very plastic and graceful material – viscose during the production process can be suitable for various types of purpose and quite easily affect its structure, level of thickness or softness. Thus, its unique varieties are formed.
How to wash and iron viscose clothes?
Viscose is a material that requires proper care. Also at the stage of regular washing and ironing of clothes created from it. This material is quite delicate – both fabrics and knitted fabrics made of viscose do not like high temperatures. Therefore, even before the first wash, it is worth soaking it a little in cold water. It is best if they are washed at 30°C.
The temperature should also be remembered when ironing – it is best if the temperature of the iron does not exceed 90-100 ° C. In addition, the viscose should be ironed on the left side, through a dry cotton cloth. After washing, when hanging, it is better not to stretch it. It is best if it is dried flat. It is definitely not advisable to put damp viscose clothes in a closet, drawer or suitcase. It is worth letting the material evaporate, which it does quite quickly. In this way, we will protect our clothes from mold and keep them fresh.
